It's difficult to find good information in regards to finding work as an audio specialist.

There are schools designed to do so that will gladly take your money, but not guarantee any results!

It's actually much simpler than you think. It comes down to two things... Portfolio and Networking.

You can work on both of those from the comfort of your home studio!

Portfolio

- I document my work on my website, YouTube channel and social media. I create proof and attract clients to me.

- I regularly update my LinkedIn profile and make sure I receive all my credits on IMDB.

- I create templates for the emails I send to job offers that include examples of my work (a demo reel) and any relevant links.

Networking

- 80% of the new clients I acquire are on local Facebook groups in the industry (I target film, tv and corporate interviews).

- The other 20% comes from referrals and/or word of mouth.

- I build strong relationships with my clients and leave a lasting impression, so I get recurring work from them.

Following these tips, I get plenty of work doing location sound on film sets, corporate settings and in my studio doing sound design and audio post-production.
